PERSONAL PROFILE
Karen Embleton is a local artist who initially trained as a graphic designer, and who then worked in retail on point of sale and promotional display before progressing into senior management, making a significant contribution to systems development. She then moved into management consultancy and recruitment, helping to build a business which became a specialist in its sector. Briefly returning to retail management, she then set up her own interior design and decorating business (Decor by Women).
She has recently been inspired by her surrounding to capture the local scenery in oils, watercolours, pastels and photography, producing unusal prints on canvas. The result is beautiful moody images which capture the essence of the Lake District. Her work can be seen in many locations throughout the area and on her web site.
The Lake Districtattracts thousands of visitors each year. Its dramatic scenery and beautiful landscapes offer so much more to so many. As a local resident, I am surrounded by what appears to be constantly changing views and yet, the area has looked this way for thousands of years.
Each day, each month and each season these images change due to the differing light conditions. This is what is so captivating about the Lake District. Trying to reflect these changes for everyone to enjoy, I have created stunning images which can be displayed in your home to remind you of the time spent here.
With colours which can evoke emotion and moods, they appeal to everyone. Hopefully, you too can find a place in your home to appreciate these images. They might just remind you of a special moment in time.........

"When you buy one of my "Originals" you are buying an exclusive piece of work,
" When you buy one of my "Limited Editions" you are buying from an exculsive range of work".
All of the work I produce has been processed by me. Whether it is a oil painting, watercolour, photograph or print taken from an original piece of art work. Photographs taken are often enhanced digitially. What ever the final image created, it is then printed using the highest quality canvas and inks which have a life assurance of between 70-100 years. A large format Epsom Pro Series Printer ensures a quality Print. The protective varnish applied will ensure even longer lasting quality. When buying a limited edition, the same process has been used. The only difference is at the printing stage, when further copies are produced. The norm is 50-100. No print will ever be re-produced more than 250 times.
Prints can be on high quality photo paper or more usually canvas which can be either framed or stretch mounted. Standard sizes or made to order.
